How do I register my child with Dynamo Soccer Club?
During open registration periods, children may be registered online through Dynamo’s website.  You may also call 804-730-6510 to register.

What are my payment options?
The on-line registration form has an option for paying by credit card, with step by step directions on how to do so.  All payments are made through a secure line to a credit card service.  In addition, you may pick the option to mail a check to Dynamo Soccer Club after you have completed your registration.  All checks should be mailed to:

How many games will my child have?
Each team is scheduled 7 games per season.

What happens in the event of a rain-out?
In the event of inclement weather, there are several ways to find out information about your child’s games or practices.  Dynamo Soccer Club will update the website under Recent Headlines and send an email out to all families.  You may also call our Dynamo Soccer Club weather hotline at 804-551-2565.  Dynamo Soccer Club will reschedule games, but the rescheduling of practices will be left up to each team’s coach.

What is the cost?
Dynamo Soccer Club’s Recreation fee is $85 if players are registered prior to the early registration deadline, $95 after the early registration deadline. Our U4 program is $75 before and after the early registration deadline. We are the most cost efficient club in the area, as our registration fee includes the player’s uniform, socks and all other fees.  In short, your $85 covers everything your player needs to play with Dynamo Soccer Club except for cleats, shorts and shinguards. 

Do you offer discounts for multiple family members?
Unfortunately, because we have set the cost per player so low, Dynamo Soccer Club cannot afford to offer multiple family member discounts.  However, our Dynamo Booster Board is working diligently to offer scholarships to families with financial hardship.

When is practice?
Practice times are chosen by each team’s coach, however you are asked for which day you cannot practice during the registration process.  Due to the high volume of requests we receive, it is not always possible to honor these requests, but Dynamo Soccer Club will do our best to accomadate everyone.

How will my child be placed on a team?
Dynamo Soccer Club assigns teams based on geography, school attending, and special practice requests.

May my child play in a different age group?
Due to insurance requirements, players are not allowed to play outside of their age group.

Do I need experience to play?
Our Recreation Programs are developmental programs, and no experience is necessary to join.

Are there tryouts?
No, there are no tryouts for Recreational or U7/U8 Academy Program players. Try-outs for Travel players are held in the Spring, and the U9 Academy program has a team placement day.

What is the Academy Program?
The Academy Program is designed to add another tier to the structure of Dynamo Soccer Club. The Academy program is designed to offer players higher quality, professional training and a more competitive playing experience. It is a stepping stone for players that want to play at a higher level.  The Academy Program is not just for advanced players, but also for players wanting advanced training. It is available for all U7 and U8 boys and girls. U9 players must participate in the Selection Day to participate. 

What do I need to buy?
Each player’s registration fee includes their jersey and socks.  Players will need to provide their own cleats, shinguards and shorts.  Dynamo Soccer Club has contracted a soccer vendor to sell player equipment at discounted prices during Meet the Coach Day.

May I wear glasses or jewelry?
Wire-rimmed glasses and/or jewelry (including pierced earrings) are not allowed during practices or games. This rule is for the safety of all players. Players may wear glasses if doctor approval is provided.

What if my child misses a practice or game?
Coaches cannot bench a player for missing a practice or a game. Players are encouraged to attend all practices and games to develop both individual and team skills. If you find that you will be missing a practice or game, please contact your coach or team representative to advise them. Dynamo Soccer Club’s policy is that all players will play at least 50% of each game.

Are the coaches volunteer? 
All recreation coaches are volunteer parents, however we do encourage our recreation coaches to obtain coaching licenses. 

How do you sign up to be a coach or booster member?
When you register your child for the first time, the system gives you the option to check off coaching and/or booster member options.  When you register your child any following time, you may update your parent/guardian profile by selecting your name and updating your information.

What does it mean to be a Booster member?
Booster members are occasionally called upon to volunteer for different roles within the club.  Some of these roles include:
Field setup and take down
Staffing the merchandise and information tent
Assisting with fundraising activities
Volunteering to help with Dynamo’s tournaments
Assisting with Meet the Coach Day

What is the function of the Dynamo Boosters?
The Boosters help manage volunteers for the club and raise money for the following areas:
Player scholarships
Field development

Administrative and marketing support

Do you conduct criminal background checks on your coaches and referees?
Virginia Youth Soccer Association and our insurance providers require all of our coaches, volunteers, Board members, and staff to fill out and participate in the national Kid Safe program.  This program monitors criminal and civil backgrounds.

Who will be the referees?
In the U5 and U6 age groups, the coaches referee the games. In the U7 and older age groups, independent and neutral referees are utilized.

Why are teenage referees used for games?
Soccer referees are in short supply, and Dynamo Soccer Club works to promote refereeing to young players.  When young players become referees, they often develop a better understanding of the game, allowing our overall referee quality to increase.  Please understand that no matter the age of the referee, we expect them to make mistakes, allowing them to learn and become better at what they do.  Please be tolerant of our referees as they develop and grow in the game. 

Will my child receive a trophy?
Dynamo Soccer Club does not provide trophies, but coaches/team parent may choose to get trophies for their teams. A trophy provider comes out to the fields for Meet the Coach Day to meet those needs.

May I get a refund?

What do I need to do to become a referee?

What does COED vs ALL-GIRLS mean?
Coed divisions have both boys and potentially girls. Girls are not guaranteed on every team, but are placed together on teams in the Coed division as they sign up. The All-Girls league has only girls. 

What if my player cannot attend Meet the Coach Day?
You can get your uniform and meet your coach the first day of practice. 

What does the age group designation mean?
The "U" means "Under" and the number is the age that they will be turning after August 1. If your player is 5 on August 1, then they will be in U6, etc. Some age groups are combined due to numbers, like U11 and U12 are combined to be U12. 

When are team assignments sent out? When are game schedules posted? 
Team assignments are sent out after registration is over and teams are formed, as quickly as possible! Game schedules are posted during the first week of practices. 

Can I pay after I know I get my requests?
We will not give any player a spot on a team until their registration fee is settled. The earlier you get your registration in, the more likely all your requests will be met! 

What if my team does not have a coach on their team assignment email?
If you are interested in coaching, please let us know as soon as possible! Coaches have a say in their practice night, and they also get a discount on the next seasons registration fee. We have coaching classes to help new coaches and a large online library with plenty of resources! Teams will not be disbanded if they do not have a coach when team assignments go out. We will find someone to fill the spot. 

Why am I not getting any club emails?
First, check your Spam folder! Second, add "" to your safe senders list for your email account. If you are still not getting emails, check with the office to see if your email is correct in the system. We are able to have up to 2 emails in our system, if you would like to add another email. 

Does Dynamo Soccer Club have a lost and found?
We do have some items turned into our office. Please give us a call or send an email inquiring about your lost item.
